Also Dr. Weik is planning a workshop that would be a bigger event where community members are invited to his lab in USC to participate in cemetery preservation training and collecting oral history/ethnographic interviews. The workshop will take place at the USC archeology lab. He has proposed the following dates: February 21st, March 7th and April 11th. For those who are planning to come to Columbia for the Cemetery workshop and Community gathering at Cedar Creek April 10-11…If you want to do something fun after the workshop is over at noon on Friday, April 10, Historic Columbia is having their Spring Plant Sale not far from the location of the workshop. They also have some very interesting homes, gardens and walking tours. They are all located within a short distance of each other. One of those tours is the African American History Tour.
